Empowering people towards excellence.

Program Standards

*  PNGI believes in developing individual and unique employment opportunities based on a comprehensive discovery process with any person involved in the program. As such, PNGI doesn’t recycle jobs, or work to fill vacant positions: each job is specifically matched to each client.

*  PNGI does not support the creation of new jobs where people are grouped together.  PNGI defines a group as any more than two people involved in the program doing the same or similar work in the same location at the same or similar times.

*  PNGI does not wish to encourage the ‘ghetto-ization’ of particular jobs by having such jobs done only by people with developmental disabilities.  If a person without a disability would not do the same job, for the same pay and working conditions, then it is not a job PNGI should support or pursue.

*  PNGI’s employment best practices and timelines related to non traditional job development must be followed unless there is a very compelling reason not to that has been approved by the company directors.

*  PNGI believes in using a business approach to job development.  The job seeker and the business are considered clients and PNGI needs to be concerned with both.

*  PNGI believes in being outcome focused.  PNGI is accountable for the services it is paid to provide.

*  PNGI believes networking and partnerships are key to developing and promoting best practices.  PNGI will be actively involved in provincial and national efforts to further its goals regarding employment.
