Program Standards

 

*  Consistency is crucial.
 

*  Schedules are planned, appropriate to the individual’s needs, and followed.  Changes to schedules are avoided where possible, and only made for compelling reasons unless a changing schedule was agreed to at the beginning of services.
 

*  Where possible, personality types and traits are taken into account when matching a client with a Support Worker.
 

*  Time spent with clients is planned and purposeful. 
 

*  PNGI's Support Worker will be prepared for appointments and be on time.
 

*  Lifeskills supports are based on individual needs.  People are not grouped nor do they share services unless there is a very specific and authorized reason to do so.
 

*  PNGI is accountable for successful outcomes as a result of Lifeskills Support.  The Support Worker documents and reports these outcomes on a regular basis according to contractual agreements.
 

*  Any PNGI employee who is attending a planning meeting or other appointment with other agencies will be prepared.  They will have a comprehensive understanding of the person they are there to represent.  They will have knowledge and details of the purpose for the meeting in order to play an effective role.
 

*  PNGI follows an ethical decision making model as per written company policy whenever presented with an ethical dilemma.
 

*  PNGI is responsive to questions or concerns from clients, families, funding agency staff, or community members in a timely manner.  PNGI ensures that the appropriate representative of the company responds.
 

*  PNGI will advocate for the people with disabilities that it supports to have the resources to be safe and secure in their community.
